Filename: sam-9libs.tar.bz2 (178203 bytes) Filename: sam-9libs.tar.gz (212220 bytes) Directory: ftp://ftp.demon.co.uk/pub/unix/plan9 Platform: Unix Short: Rob Pike's sam editor for Unix, using 9libs for Plan 9 support. Sam is a text editor written by Rob Pike of Lucent Technologies. It supplies a command language based on regular expressions and a minimalist graphical user interface. This release of sam is based on Lucent's sam version 4.3, which is available from ftp://netlib.bell-labs.com/netlib/research/sam.shar.gz . This release adds a GNU-style configure script to the original, making it easier to install on modern Unix systems. It requires the 9libs package to provide the underlying Plan 9 programming environment. The 9libs package should be available in the same location as the sam-9libs distribution. Much of the work in preparing this release was done by Bengt Kleberg . Questions, comments, bug reports and fixes can be addressed to either Bengt or myself. Mark H. Wilkinson
