Subject: Seeking help in preparing proof of Goldbach's Conjecture for publication


I believe I have discovered a one-page proof of Goldbach's Conjecture,
which asserts that every even positive integer is the sum of two
primes. So far, close to 400 mathematicians have visited the proof. I
have received only four claims of an error, each of which turned out
to be the result of a misunderstanding of the basic argument.

I am now seeking a mathematician to carefully review the proof, and
then help me prepare a version for submission to an appropriate
journal. Needless to say, a one-page proof of such a long-standing
conjecture will arouse considerable interest, with corresponding
prestige for the mathematician who helped prepare it for
publication. I will offer a consulting fee, and not require more than
one hour of work per week.

The Mathematics Department at Morgan State University is excited to

Title: Normal Forms and Sparse Reconstruction for Networks
Supervisor: Prof Tiago Pereira

Job description/Requirements: A network encodes a structure of
individual units (the nodes), together with the information of how
these units depend on each other. We project focus on qualitative
changes in the dynamics of networks as one or more parameters
vary. One can, for example, think about the emergence of steady state
points or periodic orbits, or the phenomenon whereby multiple cells in
a network start displaying identical dynamical behaviour
(synchronisation). Due to the nature of network structures, the
symmetries are often more 'exotic' than compact groups; equivariance
of a dynamical system will often mean with respect to the action of a
finite monoid (i.e. a group without inverses) and the representations
in question will often be of semigroups. The project deals with such
normal form reduction to understand how collective dynamics appear
with such systems. When data is collected from such networks recent
evidence suggest that if one aims to enforce sparsity of the
reconstruction only the normal form of the network can be
recovered. In this case, the normal form may be a hypergraph instead
of a network. This project envision to classify these reconstruction
scenarios.

The successful applicant will participate of a collaborative effort
being developed by the Brazilian team headed by Prof. Tiago Pereira. A
doctoral degree in Applied Mathematics, Engineering or a related area
is required, together with strong background on dynamical reduction
techniques, such as normal form theory, Lyapunov-Smith reduction and
center manifold reduction. Candidates with proven skills in performing
independent scientific research and in programming for high
performance computing environments will be preferred. Interested

Description: Given the recent explosion in the amount of data from
multiple modalities, a fundamental problem is fusing heterogeneous
datasets containing dataset-specific information. The objective of the
project is to develop flexible and directly interpretable unsupervised
learning algorithms based on tensor decompositions for neuroimaging
data fusion. Specific objectives include the study of their
theoretical properties and demonstrate their performance on
multi-subject and multimodality neuroimaging data for personalized
medicine applications.

Candidate profile: Master's degree or equivalent, with experience in
signal processing, machine learning or applied mathematics.

The topic of the PhD work will focus on the development and analysis
of computational methods for nonlinear PDE models (with applications
in the natural sciences).

duties are also included. A professional command of English language
is mandatory; some knowledge of German is preferred.

papers containing very recent results in fixed-point theory in
