abstract
BlockSolve is a scalable parallel software library primarily intended for the
solution of sparse linear systems that arise from physical problems having
multiple degrees of freedom at each node.
BlockSolve runs on a variety of parallel architectures including the IBM SP,
Intel DELTA and Paragon, and networks of Sun and RS/6000 workstations.
This portability is obtained by utilizing the Chameleon communication
package developed by William Gropp at Argonne National Laboratory. A user
does not need to use the Chameleon package to use BlockSolve; BlockSolve
need only be compiled with the options compatible with the message-passing
paradigm and architecture on which it will be used.
