INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
LINEAR ALGEBRA AND ITS APPLICATIONS

Sept. 28-30, 1987

Valencia, Spain

PURPOSE AND HISTORY OF THE CONFERENCE

The purpose of the conference is to bring together both
theoretical and numerical linear algebraists with
academicians and research engineers concerned with various
applications of linear algebra.

This is the fourth conference on the subject organized by
Portuguese and Spanish mathematicians. The others were held
in Coimbra, Portugal in 1982 and 1984 and in Vitoria, Spain
in 1983.

This time, a special emphasis will be given to the
applications of Linear Algebra to Linear and Nonlinear
Systems Theory, Control and Signal Processing.
