Re: building an ATLAS .so

Greetings! Sorry, I forgot a url. If you want to check these
binaries out, get

http://http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/main/binary-i386/libs/atlas2_3.0-8.deb

If you're not running debian, you can then just 'ar x' the deb file,
and 'tar zxvf data.tgz' the unpackaged tarball.

If you want to build yourself, get

http:/http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/potato/main/source/devel/atlas_3.0.orig.tar.gz
http:/http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/potato/main/source/devel/atlas_3.0.diff.gz
http:/http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/potato/main/source/devel/atlas_3.0.dsc

unpack the orig, apply the diff with 'patch', and then do (in the top
level directory, as root or with 'fakeroot')

debian/rules binary (if running Debian, and have the 'apt' program)

touch blas-stamp
touch lapack-stamp
debian/rules install (otherwise)

Take care,
